This webinar will feature an expert panel and introduce a practice tool to provide recommendations on how to navigate the cannabis landscape in BC. Topics will include safety and harm reduction, prescribing, THC to CBD ratios, and common patient questions.

Key Speakers
James McCormack, PharmD is a professor in the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He is a co-author on the CFPC Simplified Guideline for Prescribing Medical Cannabinoids in Primary Care. Dr. McCormack has had extensive experience, both locally and internationally, speaking to health professionals and consumers about the rational use of medications, and has presented over 500 seminars on drug therapy over the last 30 years. He is also a co-host on the Best Science (BS) Medicine Podcast, which aims to promote shared decision-making using evidence-based and rational therapeutic principles.
Nick Matthew, MD, FRCPC, ABPN (Addiction Psychiatry), ABAM is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the UBC Department of Psychiatry. He works as an addictions psychiatrist at the Maple Ridge Treatment Centre in British Columbia
Lori Montgomery, MD, CCFP is the Medical Director of the Alberta Health Services Calgary Pain Program and Chair of the CFPC Chronic Pain Program Committee (2016 - 2019). She is a contributor to the CFPC preliminary Guidance document for Authorizing Dried Cannabis for Chronic Pain or Anxiety (2014), and is also a Clinical Associate Professor in the Departments of Family Medicine and Anesthesia, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at the University of Calgary.
Simon Moore, MD, CCFP has a passion for teaching and he hates boring lectures. He is a former President of the Canadian Association of Internes of Residents (now known as Resident Doctors of Canada). He has worked in rural BC, Northwest Territories, and Ontario, and now works in Urgent Care and at an Indigenous Family Health Team. Dr. Moore is an award-winning teacher in the UBC Faculty of Medicine, and is the founder and lead faculty of The Review Course in Family Medicine.
